going...going...gone! (hopefully)

lots of news -- lots of news! let's see...where do i begin?

i guess the biggest news is that we put our house on the market. we have always known that we wouldn't stay in our current home forever and we've always had our sights set on another town one county east of here. jas has family in this town, plus it puts us lots closer to his parents which will be nice. we won't be living next door to them, but the drive there will be cut in about half. we've been talking about it quite a bit lately and decided to take the plunge!

we worked our butts off this past week to de-clutter and clean and that house is spotless. we touched up the paint, took about 7 car loads of stuff to goodwill, and have 9 bags of garbage to put out for the trash man. we cleaned out our upstairs and took quite a few things to jas's parents for them to store in their barn. it feels AMAZING to have the house so clean.

the 'for sale' sign officially went up on saturday afternoon.

our neighbors have bombarded us. i feel terrible. beth started crying when she saw the sign and when we were at her house last night, she started crying again. i felt awful, but i can't stay just because i like my neighbors. the twins across the street go to school with alana, so when we saw kim (the mom) this morning, she said, "now, what is going on with you guys?" she then said how much she'll miss us when we're gone and how "all the good neighbors leave." ugh.

i'm keeping everything hush-hush here simply because i don't want everyone asking me every day if we've had any bites on our house. i know the market sucks right now, but i'm hoping the $8000 housing credit will spice things up. hopefully, it will be sold by this summer, but we'll have to wait and see. keep your fingers crossed!!!
