our new additions.

jas and i had big plans to get kittens for the girls for christmas. actually, santa was going to bring the kittens, but we kind of jumped the gun. instead of waiting just another week or so, we caved and got the kittens yesterday afternoon. my mother-in-law's student had 3 kittens. while at her house this weekend, the girls took care of (and consequently fell in love with) them. they brought them to our house to show us yesterday and jas and i decided to keep two of them - one for each girl. we tucked the kittens into gift bags and let the girls open them. they were very surprised that they got to keep them and very, VERY happy!! i think we've heard a million 'thank yous' since then. they even thanked God in their prayers last night for their 'baby kitties.'

and even though jas and i think both of them are boys, leah has named her kitten 'miley' and alana has named her kitten 'gabriella.' if miley turns out to be a boy, however, his name will be changed to 'jackson' (another character from hannah montana). unfortunately, gabriella will still be gabriella even if he's not a she. we'll get the final verdict as to whether or not we have a miley or jackson at their first vet appointment on wednesday.

even zeke loves the kittens! we were amazed at how well he took to them. even he snuggles up to them.and here he is grinning for the camera:
